Read-A-Thon is an exciting new fundraiser to raise money for VOE! It will also encourage our kids to read more with awesome prizes! 100% of the money raised goes to the Valley Oaks PTA, which pays for two teachers’ salaries, improved technology, and much more.

WHEN DOES IT START: On Monday, March 22nd, your students will start reading & recording their minutes until Friday, April 2nd. You’ll get an official reading log to keep track of how many minutes they read each day. Reading logs are due at school by Monday, April, 5th with a parent signature.
RULES:
- Students are asked to complete 10 reading sessions between Monday, March 22nd and Friday, April 2nd.
- Reading sessions can be done before or after school, or on the weekend. Classroom reading is not included.
- Pre-K and Kinder can also count minutes when a parent is reading to them.
- Parents must sign the form at the end of the Read-a-thon.
- Be Honest. No guessing or rounding off minutes. Please look at the clock or use a timer to clock your exact time.
- Prizes will be awarded to each student by the amount of minutes read or the amount of money raised (whichever is higher).
*All Prizes are cumulative. For Example: If your student reads 524 minutes, he/she would receive all 5 prizes listed up to the 500-599 category.
